Heal Your Heart, Heal Your Child: Release Your Trauma to Become the Mom You Want to Be!
PRE-ORDER NOW, BOOK WILL SHIP BY JULY 2023
Being a mother is challenging enough when you’ve had positive parenting and relationship examples, but for women who have not, and who have lived with dysfunction, or even traumas, parenting can be much harder.
Each mother-author brings you along on her life’s journey through traumas, to her points of decision to take charge of and change her life, finding resources and support to help her along the way, the challenges she’s had in parenting because of her traumas, her healthier approaches to her children and her life, and the positive results she has created for her family and other aspects of her life.
Some of the traumas discussed are: growing up with controlling parents, narcissism, religious abuse, generational trauma, emotional abandonment, witnessing parents who have addictions and/or domestic violence, having addictions, being a victim or perpetrator of domestic violence, bullying, miscarriage, divorce, abortion, all kinds of abuse and neglect, homelessness, and others.
Each story consists of bite-sized chapters, with discussion and instruction at the chapter end about the approaches the mother used to help herself, and other tools that could be helpful in those situations. Jaci teaches what trauma is and how it affects the mind and body, coping skills such as deep breathing, guided imagery/meditation and journaling, and techniques for issues such as safety, healthy communication/relationships, self-awareness, goal-setting, healthy parenting and discipline, conflict resolution, and developing and enforcing appropriate boundaries for yourself and your children.
Each chapter provides prompts, questions, and space to reflect on how the story relates to her life, and how she can apply the coping/healing tools to herself and her family. Many include strategies and activities Mom can do with her children, to teach them the same healthy relationship skills she is learning, and to foster healing of everyone’s hearts and relationships.
